Ingredients
Method
-
½ Cup Edible Rice Bran
-
1 ½ Cup Wheat Flour
-
1 Teaspoon Salt
-
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
-
200ml Water
-
Add all the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
-
Add the wet ingredients and just mix it together until it forms a ball. You do not have to knead it yet.
-
Cover the bowl and let it rest for 10 to 30 minutes
-
After resting, knead it well for 5 minutes.
-
Roll into 1 inch balls (keep them in a bowl covered with a wet cloth)
-
Heat a frying pan or tawa on a medium low flame
-
While the pan is heating, use a rolling pin and roll one ball into a circular shaped flat bread (chapathi), roughly 6 inches wide.
-
Once the pan is hot, put the chapati on the pan.
-
When you see small bubbles form on the surface, flip the chapati. [Alternately, remove the pan and flip the chapatti directly on the open flame]
-
When big bubbles form, remove from the pan [flame]

You may brush some butter on the chapati immediately after removing from the pan, to give it a softer texture and add additional flavor to it.
