Rice Bran Instant Thosai

Ingredients

Method

  • 1/2 Cup                Edible Rice Bran

  • 2 cups Atta Flour (Chapathi flour)

  • 1/2 cup yogurt

  • pinch of Salt

  • Sufficient Water to make it into a slightly thick batter

Seasonings:

  • 1 medium sized big onion - chopped

  • 1 green chili - minced

  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  1. Mix the Edible Rice Bran, Atta Flour and salt together in a bowl.

  2. Add water and whisk until it becomes a slightly thick batter

  3. Let it sit/rest for 10 - 15 minutes

  4. Heat the oil, and fry the mustard seeds.

  5. Once the mustard seeds have popped, add the onions and green chilies. Give them a quick stir.

  6. Take it off the heat and mix into the batter.

  7. Heat a tawa and pour thosai batter. 

  8. Cook on both sides and then serve hot.

Preparation Time: 25 minutes

Cooking Time: 45 minutes 

Makes 20 - 6inch thosais

Serve these thosais with your favorite side dishes like Chutnee or Chicken Curry and enjoy.
